There’s a new store opening up for all of you beaders and crafters! Modern Bead will open in Old Sauk Center sometime (hopefully) in December. The owners are still reaching a lease agreement. More on this when I get details!

Just Bead It

I admit I was a bit skeptical when I received information on the Bead&Button Show taking place in Milwaukee, June 3–10. I was skeptical because beading just didn’t sound exciting to me, until I saw some of the glamorous creations in the show’s catalogue—vintage-inspired earrings, chunky cuff bracelets and extravagant bib necklaces. And yes, even the Chicago Tribune wrote, “Move over knitters, beads are the hot hobby.” So apparently, beading might be worth looking in to. This year’s show promises more than 370 vendors from around the world and 480 workshops and classes.
